INTRODUCTION
Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is a lean manufacturing technique that allows you to create a visual map of a product or service’s end-to-end process.
VSM allows you to visually map the flow of information and materials through all of the activities in a process. From the time an order is placed to the time the product or service is delivered, for example. The map begins with customer needs and shows how and when information is received. The map depicts how decision-making and communication processes affect the overall flow.
