Strategic Managerial Skills

INTRODUCTION

Strategic management is all about identifying and describing the methods that managers may use to achieve improved performance and a competitive advantage if their profitability exceeds the average profitability of all firms in their industry. Strategic management may also be described as a set of decisions and actions taken by a manager that determine the outcome of the firm’s performance. To make sound judgments, the manager must have a complete understanding and analysis of the general and competitive organizational environment. They do SWOT Analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Risks), which means they should maximize the organization’s strengths, reduce its weaknesses, capitalize on emerging opportunities from the business environment, and avoid ignoring threats.
