Active and Proactive Listening Skills for Supervisors

INTRODUCTION

Many managers take their ability to listen for granted. However, these individuals are frequently astonished to hear that others do not believe they listen as effectively as they might or should. They solve issues for others rather than guiding them to achieve their own conclusions, they assume others have already bought into an idea or change before they have, and they lose out on critical information that may help them create credibility and learn about their teams. This course examines active and proactive listening abilities through the eyes of a leader. The curriculum explores critical habits that, if immediately implemented, can increase a person’s capacity to listen and lead.
