Press Release Writing and Promotion

INTRODUCTION

This course will teach you how to write the essential collateral for “doing” public relations, such as a press release, story pitch, and media contact list. These collateral pieces may then be used to communicate the story of your organization. All collateral must remain “on message” and represent a company’s mission and basic values. Working with journalists and other media professionals can be difficult at times, so we’ll go through some strategies for cultivating these connections. Finally, we’ll discuss social media influencers and if partnering with influencers is the correct strategy for your communication goals.
