Risk Management in Supervisory Role

INTRODUCTION

A Risk Management Supervisor is in charge of directing a team of risk analysts that develop and direct business analysis, risk modelling, and loss prevention initiatives. Handles claims, ensures safety compliance, and conducts risk management analysis. A Risk Management Supervisor negotiates the renewal of property and liability insurance. Maintains and implements the company risk management information system. Furthermore, the Risk Management Supervisor, a level II supervisor, has power over personnel actions and manages the majority of the group’s day-to-day activities. A bachelor’s degree may be required. Reports to a manager or the head of a unit/department. In an enterprise with highly transactional or repetitive procedures, the Risk Management Supervisor manages a small group of paraprofessional workers. Contributes to the creation of new processes and procedures.
